Artemon Aerospace, an Indian defense company, showcased its latest innovation, the Tactical Multirole airborne Loitering UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) named VAZRA, at the recently concluded Maharashtra Defence Expo.

Designed for air superiority, the VAZRA is a next-generation loitering UAV, powered by a micro turbojet engine and equipped with an integrated infrared (IR) camera. While details regarding its specifications remain undisclosed, company officials informed idrw.org that the VAZRA is air-launched from other UAVs.

Nibe Defence and Aerospace Limited has entered into an exciting technology transfer agreement with the Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (VRDE), a laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). This partnership will bring to market innovative Expandable Mobile Shelters (EMS) designed by VRDE to revolutionize field operations for India’s defense forces.

Traditional mobile shelters offer valuable capabilities in the field but can be limited in terms of workspace, particularly when considering transportation requirements. VRDE’s EMS design directly addresses this challenge by providing substantially more workspace in the field while minimizing logistical burdens.

Indian aerospace startup Dg Propulsion Private Limited (DPPL) has achieved a significant milestone with their indigenously developed DG J40 jet engine. The engine, boasting a thrust capacity of up to 40 kgf, successfully completed a grueling one-hour endurance test, exceeding expectations and showcasing its potential for various applications.

Prateek Dhawan, director at DPPL, expressed his enthusiasm, exclaiming, “We smashed through the elusive 1-hour mark – 1 hour and 10 minutes to be exact!” Their team intentionally threw various challenges at the engine, including fluctuating throttle demands and sudden RPM changes, pushing it to its limits. The J40 emerged victorious, showcasing its stability and reliability under diverse operating conditions.

Pakistan’s recent announcement to acquire 5th-generation Shenyang FC-31 Gyrfalcon fighter jets from China has raised eyebrows, not only for its geopolitical implications but also for its economic feasibility. Moreover, Pakistan’s strained financial situation makes securing funding for a large-scale acquisition a challenge. In a significant revelation, Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa (Retd.), former head of the Indian Air Force (IAF), has confirmed the possession of classified Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery that supports India’s success in striking Jaish-e-Mohammed terror training camps deep inside Pakistan following the Balakot airstrikes. These images, according to Dhanoa, counter the initial assessments made by international agencies relying on open-source imagery.

Speaking to livefistdefence.com, Dhanoa emphasized the importance of high-resolution images for accurate damage assessment. “To see an 80cm hole in a building, you need to put at least 2 pixels on the hole (approximately 40cm resolution),” he explained. International agencies, lacking knowledge of the specific aim points and advanced weaponry deployed by the IAF, had initially underestimated the impact of the strikes.
