In response to the recovery of Chinese and American weapons from Pakistani-backed terrorists in the Kashmir Valley, Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) R R Swain announced on Friday that the police force is upgrading its arsenal with the latest arms from Israel and Germany. This move aims to equip the police with advanced weaponry to better tackle militants armed with modern weapons.

DGP Swain emphasized the necessity of this procurement to boost the police force’s capabilities. “The new procurement of arms from Israel and Germany will give a boost to the police forces’ weaponry and also help tackle the enemy in a much better way. Terrorists can give us a leg cut but can’t defeat us,” he asserted.

Led by Dr Shanmugadas KP and graduates Ayush Divyansh and Preetam Jamod, the startup has emerged victorious in the open category of DRDO’s TDF Dare to Dream 4.0 Innovation Contest, an official spokesman said.

Indian army has inducted the first-ever indigenous chip-based 4G mobile base station, which it procured from Bangalore-based firm Signaltron through the government e-marketplace portal, a top company official said.

Signaltron founder Himamshu Khasnis told PTI that the chip used in the Sahyadri LTE base stations has been developed by Signalchip. Earlier in 2010, Khasnis and his team founded a fabless semiconductor company Signalchip to make chips for 4G and 5G networks.

The Pakistani Parliament has firmly rejected a US congressional resolution calling for an investigation into alleged rigging in the February 2024 elections. Lawmakers in Islamabad have decried the move as an interference in the country’s internal affairs.

In a strongly worded statement, the National Assembly emphasized that the American request reflects an incomplete and incorrect understanding of Pakistan’s political and electoral processes. Before taking charge as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff on February 19, Gen Dwivedi was serving as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Northern Command from 2022-2024.

Acting on the directions of a competent court, this action underscores the commitment of law enforcement to curb terrorist activities in the region.

Mudasir Fayaz is accused of aiding terrorists in the valley, a charge related to case FIR No: 150 of 2022 under sections 18, 23, 38, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and 7/25 of the Arms Act, according to an official from the Police Station Chadoora.

Indian Navy Destroyer INS Ranvir arrived in Chattogram for a week-long goodwill visit. The visit of INS Ranvir to Chattogram, Bangladesh coincided with the visit of Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy to Bangladesh, said the High Commission of India to Bangladesh in a social media post on ‘X’. 

INS Ranvir is a ‘Guided Missile Destroyer’ and forms part of the front line combatant fleet of the Indian Navy on the Eastern Seaboard.

The long wish of the Secunderabad Cantonment residents has finally been fulfilled as the Union Government notified the merger of the civil areas under the Cantonment Board with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The Ministry of Defense issued orders to this effect, an official release from the CMs office said here on Saturday night. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy took a special initiative to solve the long-pending merger of civil areas of the Cantonment Board with the GHMC.

The CM took up the matter with the Defense Minister every time during his recent Delhi tour. The Chief Minister also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to solve the issue during the latter’s visit to Telangana on March 5. Following the CM’s regular appeal to the center, the central government decided to abolish all the cantonment boards, which have existed since British Colonial rule, and merge them into the municipalities.
