The K-9 Vajra is a customized variant of the K-9 Thunder self-propelled howitzer originally developed by the South Korean defense company Hanwha Defense. L&T Defense undertook significant research and development to tailor the K-9 Thunder to meet the specific requirements of the Indian Army. India will never give up its claim on Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK) but it won’t have to capture it with force because its people, on their own, would want to be part of India after seeing the development in Kashmir, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said.

Corporal Vicky Pahade, who was killed in a terror attack in Poonch region of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, was supposed to return home to celebrate his son’s birthday on Tuesday.

The soldier was from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district and was a resident of Nonia-Karbal village. Vicky Pahade had visited his family last month to attend his sister’s wedding and had joined the unit on April 18, local residents told IANS.

A massive search operation was started on Sunday by the security forces in many areas of J&K’s Poonch district in the aftermath of the terrorist attack on a convoy of the Air Force in which one air warrior was killed.

Terrorists attacked a two-vehicle convoy of the Air Force on Saturday evening in the Bakrabal Mohalla (Sanai) area of Surankote tehsil of the district. Air Force said on its X-post handle, “In the ensuing gunfight with terrorists, the Air Warriors fought back by returning fire. In the process, five IAF personnel received bullet injuries, and were evacuated to the nearest military hospital for immediate medical attention. One Air Warrior succumbed to his injuries later. Further operations are on by the local security forces”.

Surat Police has arrested a Muslim cleric (or Maulvi) on Saturday for allegedly planning to kill the leader of a Hindu organisation, a senior police official said.

The accused has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 153 (A) (indulge in wanton vilification or attacks upon the religion, race), 467, 468 and 471 (related to forging of documents or electronic record) and section 120 (B) for criminal conspiracy, as well as the Information Technology Act, the official said.
