Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit highlighted India’s focus on achieving self-reliance in ammunition production during a recent conference. He emphasized discussions around “ramping of ammunition” and leveraging indigenous technologies to become a global leader in air-to-air, air-to-ground, surface-to-air, and other types of ammunition.

“India and the Indian Air Force are becoming self-reliant in all kinds of air-launched ammunition,” Air Marshal Dixit stated. He also acknowledged the progress made in developing indigenous air-to-ground weapons.

The conference aimed to create a platform for collaboration between the Indian defense industry, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Defence PSUs (DPSUs), and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Air Marshal Dixit stressed the “opportunity for the industry to partner” with these organizations to propel India’s journey towards becoming a “world-class defence exporter.”
