NewSpace Research and Technologies (NRT), a leading Indian aerospace and defence R&D company, recently took a step forward in fostering US-India military cooperation. NRT participated in discussions with the U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory (ARL) to explore potential collaboration opportunities.

During the discussions, NRT CEO Sameer Joshi presented NRT’s vision for “#NRT Next Generation Missions & Technologies (NGMT)” and a roadmap for co-development projects. This engagement aligns with the priority of both the Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the United States Department of Defense to strengthen military cooperation between the two nations.

Building on existing ties, NRT already has a Cooperative Research & Development Agreement (CRADA) with the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The company is actively seeking to expand its US collaborations by working with American research organizations and industry under the India-US Defense Acceleration Ecosystem (IndUSX) initiative. This program, spearheaded by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and the Indian iDEX – DIO (Defence Innovation Organisation), aims to streamline collaboration and joint development efforts between the two countries.

NRT’s engagement with the US Army signifies India’s growing focus on collaborating with international partners to develop next-generation defence technologies. This collaborative approach has the potential to accelerate innovation and equip both nations with advanced military capabilities.
