Washington’s diplomats urged India to consider action against RT, but officials stated the issue “does not pertain” to the country and it does not follow unilateral sanctions not approved by the UN, according to The Hindu, citing sources. The MEA has not officially commented.
The outlet reports that the meeting came less than two weeks before the Biden admin accused RT of working for Russia’s intel agency – claims RT’s Editor-in-Chief called “nonsense.”
On Friday, US State Sec Antony Blinken slapped another round of sanctions on RT and announced a worldwide diplomatic campaign to pressure countries into following its crack down on RT.
