The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to enhance its launch capabilities with the procurement of a new Mobile Launch Pedestal (MLP) under the ASLP project. This critical infrastructure component is designed to support the growing demands of India’s space program.

The upcoming MLP is engineered to withstand a substantial vehicle load of 500 tonnes, highlighting ISRO’s ambition to launch heavier and more complex spacecraft in the future. The platform’s dimensions, measuring 19.2 meters by 19.2 meters, indicate a robust and stable base for accommodating large launch vehicles.

With a robust design tailored to support heavy loads, the new MLP will significantly contribute to ISRO’s ability to manage and execute a broader array of missions, including those involving larger and more advanced launch vehicles. This capability is particularly important as ISRO expands its scope to include more frequent and diverse missions, ranging from satellite launches to deep space exploration.
