The Indian Army is set to hold a tri-services demonstration of indigenously developed weapon systems and platforms in an exercise called ‘Bharat Shakti’ on March 12th in Pokharan, Rajasthan.

The exercise will showcase the firepower of a range of Made-in-India weapon systems, including the Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, Arjun tanks, Dhanush howitzers, Tejas fighter aircraft, and various versions of the ALH Dhruv helicopters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, and Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande are all expected to attend the event .

This demonstration of military might is a testament to India’s growing self-reliance in defense manufacturing, and aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-reliant India). The exercise will also provide an opportunity to test the interoperability and coordination between the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
