India slammed Pakistan for raising the Kashmir issue at a United Nations Security Council debate calling it a “mischievous provocation” based on their “tested tactic of spreading misinformation.” Exercising its right to reply during the UN Security Council Debate on Women building peace in a changing environment, India called out Islamabad over the “deplorable” condition of women from minority communities in Pakistan.
Addressing the UN Security Council debate, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Parvathaneni Harish, said, “It is despicable, yet entirely predictable, that one delegation has chosen to indulge in mischievous provocation based on their pride and tested tactic of spreading misinformation and disinformation. It’s completely misplaced to indulge in such political propaganda at this important annual debate.

The frontier troops of both India and China are engaged in “relevant work” in accordance with the agreement reached between the two nations on issues concerning the border, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Friday. Addressing a press briefing on Friday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that the work is underway “smoothly”.
Being asked whether India and China have started pulling back their troops from friction points, Li Jian said, “In accordance with the resolutions that China and India reached recently on issues concerning the border area, the Chinese and Indian frontier troops are engaged in relevant work, which is going smoothly at the moment.”

Army said on Friday that the Botpathri attack has proved that Pakistan is abetting terrorism in Kashmir. “Pakistani terrorists, with a view to disrupting peace and stability in Kashmir, cowardly targeted an Army column in general area Butapathri, Baramulla on 24 October 2024, which was carrying soldiers and local porters,” a defence ministry statement said.
It added that on being fired upon, the alert troops swiftly and resolutely retaliated the fire, forcing the terrorists to retreat leaving behind a weapon and rucksack and escape into dense foliage, exploiting a nala and fading light.

A man here has been booked for allegedly uploading a picture of mafia Dawood Ibrahim’s picture on his social media profile, police said on Friday, October 25.
Phase-1 police station in-charge Amit Bhadana said sub-inspector Rahul Pratap Singh got information that Junaid alias Rehan, a resident of Sector-9, has put a photo of Ibrahim on his X account. A case has been registered against accused Junaid under section 196 (1) (B) (disturbing harmony among communities) of the BNS and the matter is being investigated, he said.

India and China have begun troop disengagement at the two friction points at Demchok and Depsang Plains in eastern Ladakh and this process is likely to get completed by October 28-29, Army sources said on Friday.
The process follows an agreement firmed up between the two countries on patrolling and disengagement of troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, a major breakthrough to end the over four-year standoff.

Recalled Indian High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Verma on Thursday shared a terrifying moment when Khalistanis attacked him with a sword in Alberta while he was along with his wife. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Verma said that the Khalistani ‘goons’ came very close to bodily harm him adding that they were not carrying the ‘kirpan’, a religious object, but a sword that could potentially harm him.
“Yes, a couple of times they came very close to bodily harm us…They were carrying a sword, it was not a Kirpan…When I was in Alberta a sword came around 2-2.5 inches close to my body…,” said Verma. The recalled Indian envoy also said that he was accompanied by his wife. “When I was in Alberta my wife was also with me…,” he said.

Highlighting the growth potential of India’s civil aviation space, Union minister K Rammohan Naidu on Thursday said the country might need 4,000 more planes in the next 20 years and 200 more airports are expected to be developed during the same period.
Currently, Indian carriers are operating around 800 planes and more than 1,200 aircraft are on order. The number of airports has doubled to 157 in the last 10 years and the count is expected to rise by 50 in the next 5 years.

The European aviation giant Airbus on Thursday said that it has inaugurated its new India and South Asia headquarters located at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). Union Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu inaugurated the office in the presence of Michael Schoellhorn, CEO of Airbus Defence and Space, and Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus in India and South Asia.
Airbus said that the new facility will serve as the epicentre for Airbus’ operations in India, housing all three business units – Commercial Aircraft, Helicopters and Defence & Space. “The inauguration of the new headquarters of Airbus in India and South Asia is another milestone in Airbus’ ambitious vision for India,” said Rémi Maillard.

Tata-Airbus Project: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez will inaugurate Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL)-Airbus factory in Vadodara on October 28 and will also hold a bilateral meeting in that city, a release said.
The foundation stone of the manufacturing facility of transport aircraft C-295 was laid in October 2022 by Modi and the plant will be inaugurated by both leaders on the next Monday, a Gujarat government release said.

The defence ministry on Thursday signed a contract with a private firm to procure six Air Cushion Vehicles for the Indian Coast Guard at a total cost of Rs 387.44 crore. These amphibious vessels, also called ‘Hovercrafts’, will be procured under the Buy (Indian) category, the ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry of Defence “signed a contract with Chowgule & Company Pvt. Ltd., Goa for procurement of six Air Cushion Vehicles (ACVs) for the Indian Coast Guard at a total cost of Rs 387.44 crore,” it said. These ACVs will be manufactured in India for the “first time in line with the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision of the government, representing a pivotal step in the nation’s shipping landscape,” it said.

Canada suddenly dropped the name of gangster Goldy Brar, who operates in the north American nation, from its wanted list of criminals, India’s recalled envoy Sanjay Verma has said. In an interview with PTI Videos, Verma said India had shared the names of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Brar with Canadian authorities who had put the latter on the wanted list.
The senior diplomat also said the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was “wrong” and the truth must come out after a thorough investigation. “Nijjar was a terrorist to us, but anything that is extrajudicial, for any democracy, rule of law country, is wrong,” Verma said.
