Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), a leading Indian defense public sector undertaking (PSU), has secured a significant export order worth €25.75 million. This win marks a major milestone for India’s defense exports and BEL’s growing international presence.

Thales Reliance Defence Systems (TRDS), a joint venture between Reliance Aerostructure Limited and Thales India Private Limited, entrusted BEL with the manufacture and supply of Transmit Receive (TR) modules. These modules play a vital role in the functioning of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars, a key technology in modern fighter jets.

The TR modules supplied by BEL will be integrated into the Thales RBE2 AESA radar. This high-performance radar equips the Rafale, a versatile omnirole fighter aircraft known for its advanced capabilities. The Rafale is a mainstay of the French Air Force and has been progressively inducted by the Indian Air Force as well.

This export order by TRDS signifies a positive development for India’s defense export ambitions. BEL’s success in supplying critical components for a world-class fighter jet radar demonstrates the growing prowess of Indian defense companies in the international market.
