Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Southwestern Air Command (SWAC), conducted a comprehensive review of a frontline Air Force base in the western sector from October 21 to 23, 2024.
A seasoned aviator with a distinguished career, Air Marshal Tiwari has previously served as a test pilot on the indigenously developed Tejas light combat aircraft. During his visit, he revisited the base and, to refresh his flying skills, undertook three sorties on the Tejas.
As a former test pilot, Air Marshal Tiwari’s firsthand experience with the Tejas provided him with a unique perspective on the aircraft’s capabilities and potential. His flights allowed him to personally assess the base’s operational readiness and the proficiency of its personnel in handling the advanced fighter jet.
The visit underscores the Indian Air Force’s commitment to maintaining a high state of readiness and ensuring the operational efficiency of its frontline bases and aircraft. Air Marshal Tiwari’s review and flight sorties serve as a testament to the Air Force’s dedication to safeguarding India’s airspace and national security.
