External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is expected to visit Pakistan on Tuesday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and senior regional government officials including Jaishankar will participate in the event. The foreign minister will arrive on time for the welcome dinner hosted by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ahead of the main summit on Wednesday.

India-Pakistan relations

The summit comes as both neighbors ruled out any formal bilateral meeting apart from the programme. Earlier this month, India announced that Jaishankar will lead a delegation to Pakistan to attend the SCO summit in Islamabad. However, Minister Jaishankar ruled out the possibility of bilateral talks during his visit.
