The latest images from Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) highlight significant progress on the warships currently under construction at the state-owned shipyard. These updates demonstrate GRSE’s commitment to timely delivery and excellence in naval shipbuilding.

Under Project 17A, GRSE is constructing advanced stealth frigates that will significantly enhance the Indian Navy’s capabilities. These warships are designed to incorporate modern weapon systems, sensors, and advanced stealth features, making them a critical asset in India’s maritime defense strategy.

Among the warships under construction, INS Himgiri stands out, with 75% physical completion achieved. The ship is rapidly approaching the final stages of construction and will soon embark on harbor trials. These trials are a crucial step in ensuring the vessel’s operational readiness before it joins the fleet.

Two other ships under construction at GRSE, INS Dunagiri and INS Vindhyagiri, are also making steady progress. Dunagiri has reached 62% completion, while Vindhyagiri is at 50%. Both ships are on track for timely delivery, reflecting GRSE’s commitment to meeting the Indian Navy’s requirements.

GRSE has emphasized that all deliveries under Project 17A will be made on schedule, ensuring that the Indian Navy receives these critical assets without delay. Notably, 15% of the project cost is dedicated to base and depot spares for the ships, ensuring comprehensive logistical support and readiness for future operations.
