Paras Defence and Space Technologies Limited announced today that it has received an industrial license from the Industrial Licensing Section of the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry. The license allows the company to establish an industrial undertaking for the manufacturing of a wide range of defense products, marking a significant step forward in India’s defense manufacturing sector.

According to the company’s official statement, the new license authorizes Paras Defence to manufacture several high-tech defense products. These include infrared or thermal imaging equipment such as monoculars, binoculars, cameras, and sights; both cooled and uncooled camera tube-based sights; electro-optics systems including day and night vision cameras, and security surveillance systems; subsystems and platforms for radar systems; and various opto-mechanical and opto-electronic assemblies.

Additionally, the company will produce integrated platforms for advanced computer-based control and monitoring systems, laser range finders, and border security surveillance systems.

Key Products Under the License

The industrial license granted to Paras Defence allows the company to manufacture an array of advanced defense technologies, which are crucial for modern warfare and surveillance:

Integrated Platforms and Surveillance Systems: The company will also develop advanced computer-based control and monitoring systems, laser range finders, and comprehensive border security surveillance systems equipped with infrared and thermal imaging capabilities.

Infrared and Thermal Imaging Equipment: This includes devices like monoculars, binoculars, cameras, and sights that are capable of detecting heat signatures, making them invaluable for night operations and conditions with limited visibility.

Electro-Optic Systems: These systems include cameras for day and night vision, and advanced security surveillance systems that are critical for border security and monitoring.

Radar Systems Subsystems and Platforms: Paras Defence will manufacture modules and control assemblies for radar systems, which are essential for both defense and civilian applications.

Opto-Mechanical and Opto-Electronic Assemblies: This category involves the production of advanced assemblies that integrate optical and electronic components, providing critical functionalities in various defense applications.

The industrial license is valid for 15 years, providing Paras Defence ample time to establish its industrial undertaking and scale up production capabilities. This move is expected to strengthen the company’s position in the defense sector, particularly in the segments of defense optics and electronics.
