The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to host its biggest-ever multinational exercise, “Tarang Shakti 2024,” this August in Jodhpur. Skies above the city will witness the roar of fighter jets from some of the most advanced air forces around the world.

This exercise marks a significant milestone for Indian-German defense cooperation. IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari’s recent visit to Germany and his sortie in a Eurofighter Typhoon underscore the strong ties between the two nations. The German Air Force itself confirmed participation with their Eurofighter jets via a social media post .

Tarang Shakti 2024 will be a truly global affair. Twelve countries are expected to participate, with six nations deploying air assets including frontline fighter jets, transport aircraft, and mid-air refuelers. The remaining six will join as observers. The participating air forces include those from the Quad nations (Australia, Japan, and the United States) along with France, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

This mega-exercise promises to foster better professional interaction among participating air forces, enrich their combat doctrines, and enable valuable exchange of insights. The wargames conducted in Rajasthan will be a testament to India’s growing strategic partnerships and its commitment to international cooperation.
