A high-level delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), headed by Major General Lukwikila Metikwiza Marcel, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, visited Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in Bengaluru yesterday.

The DRC delegation showcased keen interest in BEL’s diverse range of defence products and systems. The Director (Marketing) of BEL provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s capabilities, focusing on products that align with the DRC’s defence requirements.

To provide a firsthand experience of BEL’s technological prowess, the delegation was taken on a tour of the Military Radar Outdoor Testing and MILCOM SBU areas. Here, they witnessed the cutting-edge products and systems manufactured by BEL. A live demonstration of Night Vision Devices and Battlefield Surveillance Radar – Extended Range (BFSR-XR) further impressed the DRC officials.

This visit marks a significant step towards potential collaborations between India and the DRC in the defence sector. BEL’s advanced technology and expertise could play a crucial role in enhancing the DRC’s defence capabilities.
