Nibe Limited, a leading Indian aerospace and defense company, has announced plans to launch a constellation of 23 military-grade intelligence satellites in India. The company aims to expand the constellation to 40 satellites in the long term.

These satellites will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Optical, Infra-Red, and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). This combination will enable the satellites to provide high-resolution imagery and data for both military and civil applications.

Nibe Limited has partnered with several renowned companies in the aerospace and defense industry to realize this ambitious project. Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales and Leonardo, will provide key components and expertise. Larsen and Toubro, a multinational conglomerate, will contribute its engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Additionally, Indian space startups AgniKul and Skyroot are also involved in the project.

The launch of this constellation of intelligence satellites will significantly enhance India’s capabilities in space-based surveillance, intelligence gathering, and disaster management. It will also contribute to the country’s efforts to become a major player in the global space economy.
