Artemon Aerospace, a Pune-based startup, is making significant strides in the development of loitering munitions. The company has entered the flight testing phase for multiple variants of its loitering munition, aiming to fine-tune the systems through rigorous multi-stage evaluations.

Both hand-launched and canister-launched versions of the loitering munition are undergoing flight tests, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. Artemon Aerospace is also exploring the potential of multi-configuration launch systems in collaboration with iDEX – DIO and the Indian Navy.

Demonstrating its commitment to indigenous development, the company claims that the loitering munition comprises approximately 63% indigenous content by components and 68% by cost. This reflects Artemon Aerospace’s efforts to promote self-reliance in the defense sector.

To cater to diverse operational requirements, the company is working on two distinct propulsion systems for these loitering munitions: Electric Ducted Fan (EDF) and micro-turbojet engines. This flexibility allows Artemon Aerospace to tailor its loitering munitions to specific mission profiles and customer needs.

As Artemon Aerospace continues to make progress in the development and testing of its loitering munitions, it is poised to contribute significantly to India’s defense capabilities. The company’s focus on indigenous content and innovative propulsion systems demonstrates its potential to become a leading player in the loitering munition market.
