Indian Naval Ship (INS) Shivalik has successfully completed its participation in the prestigious RIMPAC 2024 exercise and has arrived in Guam, an island territory of the United States, for an operational turnaround. The Eastern Naval Command announced this development in an official release on Thursday.

The deployment of INS Shivalik to the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean is part of the Indian Navy’s broader strategy to enhance its operational reach and presence in the region. The ship’s participation in RIMPAC, the world’s largest multinational maritime exercise, provided a valuable platform for the Indian Navy to interact with and learn from other leading naval forces.

The operational turnaround in Guam will provide the ship and its crew with a much-needed opportunity to replenish supplies and conduct necessary maintenance before embarking on the next phase of its deployment.
