In a significant boost to India’s defense manufacturing sector, Delhi-based Vijayan Trishul Defence Solution Pvt Ltd has been allocated a 20-hectare plot by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The land, situated in the Jhansi node of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, will serve as the foundation for a new facility dedicated to the production of small-caliber weapons and ammunition. This development marks a pivotal step in the company’s mission to enhance India’s self-reliance in defense production while contributing to national security.

The allocation, announced on February 24, 2025, underscores the growing momentum of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, an ambitious initiative launched by the Indian government to foster indigenous defense manufacturing. Spanning six nodes—Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh, and Chitrakoot—the corridor aims to attract investment, create jobs, and reduce India’s dependence on imported arms. The Jhansi node, located in the Bundelkhand region, has emerged as a key hub, benefiting from its strategic connectivity to expressways and proximity to Delhi.

Sahil Luthra, Founder and Managing Director of Vijayan Trishul Defence, hailed the allocation as a landmark achievement. “This is a significant milestone for us. The land in Jhansi not only strengthens our commitment to advancing defense manufacturing but also reflects our dedication to contributing to India’s national security,” he said. Luthra emphasized that the facility will incorporate cutting-edge technology to produce high-quality defense solutions, positioning the company as a key player in the sector.

Founded by Sahil and Prikansha Luthra, Vijayan Trishul Defence has quickly established itself as a forward-thinking player in India’s defense ecosystem. The company’s roadmap includes a three-phase growth strategy: starting with small-caliber ammunition, expanding into small arms production, and eventually venturing into medium and large-caliber munitions. The Jhansi facility represents the first major step in this plan, with plans to integrate advanced technologies such as robotics, AI-driven quality control, and precision-engineering machinery.

The company has also forged strategic partnerships, including a notable collaboration with Poland’s WB Group, to enhance its manufacturing capabilities. This joint venture aims to produce advanced systems like the Warmate drone in India, signaling Vijayan Trishul’s ambition to diversify beyond traditional weaponry. Such initiatives underscore its commitment to innovation and meeting the evolving demands of modern warfare.
