On the inaugural day of NAVDEX 2025, held at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, UAE, His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a distinguished member of the UAE Royal Family, made a notable visit to the BrahMos Aerospace pavilion. The visit underscored the growing defense collaboration between India and the UAE, focusing on advanced missile technology.

Mr. Praveen Pathak, Director of Market Promotion & Exports at BrahMos Aerospace, had the honor of briefing Sheikh Nahyan about the capabilities of the universal BRAHMOS Weapon System. The briefing highlighted the versatility and strategic importance of the BrahMos missile, which is a joint venture between India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya.

The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile has become one of the major highlights at NAVDEX 2025, the premier Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition. Known for its speed, precision, and multi-platform launch capability, the BrahMos missile system offers speeds of Mach 2.8 to 3.0, providing a minimal reaction time for adversaries. The missile can be deployed from multiple platforms including ships, mobile launchers, submarines, and potentially aircraft, making it a universal weapon system adaptable to various combat scenarios. Effective against both land and sea targets, enhancing its role in modern naval warfare and coastal defense strategies.

The visit by Sheikh Nahyan not only showcased the missile’s capabilities but also symbolized the strengthening of defense ties between India and the UAE. The presence of such high-level dignitaries at the BrahMos pavilion indicates a mutual interest in expanding military cooperation, technology transfer, and joint ventures in defense production.
