Recent satellite imagery from Bholari Airbase in Pakistan has revealed signs of ongoing repair and restoration efforts at a hangar previously damaged during an Indian airstrike. The images, captured by Planet Labs and analyzed by The Intel Lab, provide a clear timeline of the hangar’s condition between May 12, 2025, and June 1, 2025.

On May 12, 2025, the satellite imagery showed a visibly damaged hangar at the airbase, with clear structural impairments likely resulting from the airstrike. The strike, part of a broader escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, had targeted key military infrastructure, including Bholari Airbase, a strategically significant location for the Pakistan Air Force.

By June 1, 2025, a follow-up image revealed that the damaged hangar is now covered with tarpaulin. This development suggests that repair or restoration activities are likely underway. Tarpaulin coverings are commonly used to shield repair work from environmental elements or to conceal activities from satellite observation, indicating Pakistan’s intent to restore the hangar to operational status.

The airstrike on Bholari Airbase is part of a series of cross-border military actions that have heightened tensions in the region. While official statements from both nations remain limited, the satellite imagery provides concrete evidence of the aftermath and subsequent response at the airbase.

Analysts suggest that the restoration of the hangar could be a priority for Pakistan to maintain its air force capabilities in the region. However, the use of tarpaulin may also indicate an effort to obscure the extent of repairs or the nature of the work being conducted, possibly to avoid further escalation or scrutiny.
