Hyderabad-based startup, Redon Systems, has made significant strides in defense technology with the development of an indigenous 6×3 wheeled, tube-launched loitering munitions system. The introduction of their Multi-Barrel UAV Launcher (MBUL) offers a new paradigm in the rapid deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), providing a strategic advantage in military operations.

The MBUL system is engineered to launch up to 16 UAVs either simultaneously or in a rapid succession, which is critical in time-sensitive combat scenarios. The launcher uses a pneumatic barrel system, where launch angles can be customized to meet specific mission requirements. This innovation ensures minimal turnaround time for continuous UAV operations, with a reload time that supports uninterrupted engagements.

Designed for portability, the MBUL’s lightweight and modular structure allows for quick setup and transportation, making it ideal for operations across varied terrains. The system can be mounted on a Stallion 4×4 vehicle, enhancing its mobility and adaptability to harsh environmental conditions.

The Ground Control Station (GCS) associated with the MBUL serves as the nerve center for mission execution. Equipped with two workstations, operators can manage missions for up to nine LMs each, providing autonomy over launches with capabilities for real-time mission adjustments.

Unparalleled Features for Maximum Impact

  • Rapid Deployment: The system can fire up to 18 loitering munitions (LMs) in sequence, with each launch possible in as little as 4 seconds. The entire setup is operational within 15 minutes, providing an immediate tactical advantage.
  • Cross-Country Operations: Its robust design allows for deployment in extreme conditions, ensuring that military forces can maintain operational dominance in challenging environments.
  • Swarm Strike Capability: By launching UAVs in coordinated sequences, the MBUL can engage multiple targets at once, overwhelming enemy defenses and ensuring mission success through a networked strike force.
  • High Pressure Ejection: Utilizing a 200-bar compressor with individual pressure controls for each barrel, the launcher can adjust to various payload requirements, optimizing launch speed and effectiveness.
  • Compact and Lethal: The LMs feature foldable wings for storage within the launcher barrels, enabling rapid deployment while carrying significant destructive power. Additionally, the vehicle carries 18 reserve LMs for a second strike, enhancing operational continuity.
