A significant breakthrough in defense technology has been achieved by Coimbatore-based Ignetta Holographic Private Limited. The company has become the first in India to manufacture holographic weapon sight systems, providing our soldiers with a crucial tool for pinpoint accuracy and operational success.

The holographic sight, developed by Ignetta Holographic, is compatible with various rifle models, including SIG Sauer and AK-47. This versatile design ensures its applicability across different weapon platforms, enhancing the effectiveness of our armed forces.

DR V Vadivelan, Director and Scientist at Ignetta Holographic, highlighted the significance of this development. He stated that the holographic sight can be used in all types of rifles, providing soldiers with the precision needed for accurate targeting and neutralizing threats.

In a collaborative effort to further advance defense technology, Ignetta Holographic is working with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on the indigenous assault rifle named ‘Ugram’. The company’s holographic sight is being integrated into this rifle, enhancing its capabilities and providing our soldiers with a state-of-the-art weapon system.

Ignetta Holographic has developed three distinct versions of the holographic sight. One version is based on the IRDE variant, while the other two have been created in collaboration with other Indian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This diverse range of options demonstrates the company’s commitment to innovation and meeting the specific requirements of different military applications.

The development of India’s first holographic weapon sight system by Ignetta Holographic is a testament to the country’s growing capabilities in defense technology. This breakthrough has the potential to significantly enhance the combat effectiveness of our armed forces and ensure their operational success.
