Banned Popular Front of India (PFI) had a hit list of around 972 people, including a former District Judge of Kerala, according to documents submitted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a court here recently. According to these NIA documents, PFI, through their secret ‘Reporters wing’ “collected and maintained the personal details of the people of other communities, including their position, name, age, photo, etc”.
The NIA has claimed that PFI had three wings — ‘Reporters Wing’, ‘Physical and Arms Training Wing/PE’, and ‘Service Wing/Hit teams’. “Through the ‘Reporters Wing’, a quasi-intelligence division of the PFI, it collected private and personal information of prominent personalities in the society, besides leaders of other communities, especially the Hindu community, including their day-to-day activities, the documents claimed. “The data is compiled at the PFI district level and communicated to their state hierarchy.

At the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Kerala Spacepark (KSPACE), a former scientist from BrahMos Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. dropped a bombshell, revealing that the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is actively developing the K-6 submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM). The K-6, with an estimated range of 8,000 km and a hypersonic speed of Mach 7.5, is poised to significantly enhance India’s strategic deterrence capabilities. The scientist also confirmed that DRDO has completed development of the K-5 SLBM (5,000 km range) and that the K-4 SLBM (3,500 km range) is already inducted into the Indian Navy’s Arihant-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs).
The KSPACE foundation stone laying program, held in Thiruvananthapuram, marks a milestone in Kerala’s ambition to become a hub for space and defense technology. KSPACE aims to foster innovation, support startups, and facilitate collaboration between industry, academia, and research institutions. The Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) will seal a deal with US defence major GE Aerospace by March to jointly produce a jet engine to power the next generation of India’s combat aircraft, the aviation behemoth’s chief DK Sunil has said. The mega plan to jointly produce the F-414 engines in India was announced during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Washington DC in 2023, though the programme suffered from several slippages because of protracted negotiations on the sharing of advanced technologies.
In an interview with PTI Videos, HAL Chairman and Managing Director Sunil said crucial negotiations with GE Aerospace on the transfer of technologies for the engines were concluded and both sides are now focusing on the commercial aspects of the project. The forward movement in joint production of the premier engines, which are powering combat jets in several countries including the US, Sweden and Australia, is seen as very significant considering the long-held US policy of maintaining strict controls over domestic military technologies.

The Indian Air Force will get at least half-a-dozen Tejas Light Combat Aircraft by March 2026, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd CMD D K Sunil has said, weeks after the IAF chief flagged serious concerns over delays in the delivery of the jets.
Sunil, chairperson and managing director of the aviation behemoth, attributed the delivery delays to United States defence major GE Aerospace missing the deadline for supply of its engines to power the fighter jets.

France-based Safran Aerospace on Tuesday announced plans to establish a new entity-Safran Aircraft Engine Services India-in Hyderabad, which will focus on the maintenance and overhaul of Rafale fighter jet engines, specifically the M88 engines.
The initiative is expected to create approximately 150 new jobs by the end of next year, with the potential to add another 750 positions in subsequent phases, according to a press release from the Telangana government.

Union Power Minister Manohar Lal on Tuesday said that a nuclear power plant and a 1,000 MW battery storage capacity unit would be set up in Bihar. He praised the Bihar government’s initiatives in the power sector such as reducing aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses, installing 80 lakh smart meters and carrying out reforms in the sector.
“Bihar had demanded a nuclear power plant besides allocation of additional power to it to tide it over the situation in summer. We have asked states to set up at least one nuclear power plant in their respective states… We will help Bihar in setting up a nuclear plant in the state,” he said.

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Tuesday called for shunning double standards in combating terrorism and urged members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to hold accountable perpetrators, organisers and financers of cross-border terrorism, seen as reference to Pakistan.
Mr Doval made the remarks in an address at a meeting of the security council secretaries of the SCO in Beijing.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has authorised Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan to issue orders to the three services to ensure greater synergy. This marks a shift from the earlier system under which instructions and orders pertaining to two or more services were issued by each service separately.
The move comes amid the government’s efforts to roll out the theaterisation model for greater synergy and jointness among the Army, Navy and the Air Force. In a statement, the defence ministry said the first joint order on “approval, promulgation and numbering” of joint instructions and joint orders” was released on Tuesday.

While India sources 18–20 per cent of its crude from Saudi Arabia, the Petroline-Yanbu corridor ensures that a significant portion of these volumes could still reach Indian refiners even if the Hormuz route is disrupted.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday removed Israeli flag-like graffiti near the Imambara in Zadibal, Srinagar and identified three teenage girls involved in it. In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, the Srinagar Police said it received information about foreign flag-like graffiti – identified as Israeli flag – painted on the road outside the main entrance of the Imambara in Zadibal. A police team from Zadibal Police Station reached the spot and ensured immediate removal of the graffiti to maintain communal harmony and public order.”
The statement said that preliminary investigation revealed the involvement of three local minor girls, all students. “Considering their age and the sensitivity of the act, their parents were called to the police station and the minors were counselled in their presence. The girls were made aware of the implications of such actions and the need to maintain communal harmony and responsible civic behaviour,” the statement said.

On Monday, June 23, 2025, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS), Lieutenant General (P) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, welcomed to the HAFGS, the Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, PVSM, AVSM, following an official invitation.
During his visit, the Chief of the Indian Air Force was briefed on the organization, mission, and operational activities of the Hellenic Air Force (HAF). Discussions were held on enhancing bilateral cooperation in both the operational and training domains. The existing cooperation between the two Air Forces is demonstrated through their joint participation in exercises such as “Iniochos 23”, “Iniochos 25”, and the multinational exercise “Tarang Shakti 24”, which strengthen interoperability and strategic collaboration between the two countries.

Asserting that Operation Sindoor has made clear to the world India’s stringent policy against terrorism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that his government takes whatever steps are appropriate in national interest.
Weapons manufactured in India showed their impact during the conflict with Pakistan, he said, without naming the country, at an event to mark the centenary celebration of the conversation between spiritual figure and social reformer Sree Narayana Guru and Mahatma Gandhi.

Pakistan’s former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday said his country will go to war if India denies Islamabad its fair share of water under the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT). India put in abeyance the 1960 agreement soon after the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack that killed 26 people. Home Minister Amit Shah last week announced to never restore the historic accord.
Bilawal’s comments came two days after Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry criticised Shah’s “brazen disregard” for international agreements.

In line with India’s diplomatic offensive against Pakistan-backed cross-border terrorism, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to press the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to ramp up efforts to contain terrorism at a two-day conclave of the bloc in China’s Qingdao that begins on Wednesday. Singh is travelling to Qingdao, a port city in China’s eastern Shandong province, for the conclave which is expected to extensively deliberate on the evolving regional security scenario.
The defence minister’s plan to call for greater regional cooperation to counter terrorism comes nearly a month-and-a-half after India carried out precision strikes on nine terror infrastructures in Pakistani territories in response to the horrific Pahalgam terror attack. It is the first visit to China by a senior Indian minister after the ties came under severe strain following the military standoff along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh that began in May 2020.
