Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police officials worked together to foil another drone intrusion attempt at the international border in the Gurdaspur sector of Punjab. Late Sunday night, January 8, a Pakistani drone attempted to enter Indian territory. BSF troops detected the drone by following the standard operating procedure in the area. According to sources, BSF troops fired 74 rounds at the drone to bring it down.
According to sources, BSF officials spotted the drone sortie twice in the area. Officials detected a drone entering Indian territory around 9:35 p.m. and successfully shot it down at 10:15 p.m.
Notably, the Punjab Police and BSF troops are conducting searches in the area. Border Security Force officials are inspecting 22 villages near the Gurdaspur sector. The type of consignment that the drone was supposed to deliver in Indian territory is being investigated.
