India will host the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization next year. India will assume its chairmanship at the end of the ongoing 22nd Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan. India will chair the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) for a full year till September 2023. This is a big success for India at the global level. Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Vladimir Norovi said that the chairmanship of the SCO for the next year has been handed over to India. “We will support India in every way to host the next SCO summit,” he informed.

On the other hand, while talking to news agency ANI, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said that no decision has been taken on whether Pakistan will have a stake in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization next year. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated India for hosting the SCO next year. He said that we will support India’s presidency next year. Let us tell that at this time many top leaders of the world including Prime Minister Narendra Modi are present in Samarkand.

On Friday, while addressing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, PM Modi said, ‘The world is facing many challenges. In this context, the role of SCO is very important. SCO contributes 30 percent to the global economy. 40 percent of the population also lives in SCO countries. India supports greater cooperation and mutual trust among SCO countries.
