The Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle-Medium (QRFV), made in India by Tata Advanced Systems Limited, has been introduced to the Indian Army (TASL). This vehicle is one of several which have recently being introduced or developed locally to meet the Indian Army’s increasing need increased mobility along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Himalayas.
As stated by a TASL spokeswoman, the vehicle is a 44 armoured personnel carrier (APC) designed to move infantry along with ammunition, communication, and control and command gear across terrain, gradients, and high altitudes rapidly.
The vehicle is designed to come with a ballistic shield with NIJ Level III or superior protection. Furthermore, it provides blast protection up to STANAG 4569 Level 4. The car has substitute flooring fitted for the occupants’ added safety during an explosion.
