PTC Industries Limited, a renowned manufacturer of high-quality engineering metal components, has announced a significant production order from BAE Systems. The order involves supplying Titanium castings for the M777 Ultra-Lightweight Howitzer (ULH), specifically for parts like Spade Trails and Blades.
The development of these castings took two years, marking a major milestone in PTC Industries’ relationship with BAE Systems. This order demonstrates the company’s technological capabilities in producing critical components for advanced defense systems.
PTC Industries will manufacture these lightweight Titanium castings at its modern facility in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The M777 ULH, weighing approximately 4.2 metric tons, is the lightest towed howitzer available, thanks to the extensive use of thin-walled Titanium castings. This makes it highly transportable by helicopter.
The castings from PTC Industries are essential for the M777 ULH’s mobility and excellent performance. The company’s advanced manufacturing process has been designed to provide long-term support for these systems. This order further establishes PTC Industries as a leader in producing high-quality titanium castings for critical defense applications.
Commenting on this development, Mr. Sachin Agarwal, Chairman & Managing Director of PTC Industries, said, “We are thrilled to receive this serial production order from BAE Systems for this significant project. This order not only enhances our partnership with BAE Systems but also showcases our proficiency in producing highly complex and thin-walled Titanium castings for such critical applications, making us amongst two to three companies in the world who have such capability. We provide top-quality products to support the defense sector and further the ‘Make in India – Make for the World’ initiative.”
