In response to the escalating terror attacks in the Jammu region, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has taken a significant step by establishing a permanent National Security Guard (NSG) hub in the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

This strategic move aims to bolster security and ensure rapid response to any major terrorist incident. The NSG hub, strategically located in Jammu city, will house a substantial number of elite commandos, sufficient to handle any emergency situation that may arise.

The deployment of NSG commandos in last month’s anti-terror operation in Akhnoor marked a significant development, underscoring the growing need for their presence in the region. The establishment of the permanent hub will significantly reduce response time, as commandos can be deployed swiftly without the need for airlifting from Delhi or other locations.

The Jammu region, encompassing districts like Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi, has witnessed a recent surge in terror attacks. The NSG hub will play a crucial role in thwarting these threats and safeguarding the region’s security.
