Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), India’s premier shipbuilder, is set to participate in the 13th International Naval and Maritime Exhibition and Conference for Latin America (Exponaval 2024). The event, which is one of the largest naval and maritime exhibitions in the region, will take place in Valparaíso, Chile, from December 3 to December 6, 2024. MDL’s participation highlights India’s expanding defense industry and its growing footprint in the global maritime sector.
MDL will present its expertise in designing, building, and delivering a wide range of naval platforms. The offerings at Exponaval 2024 will include:
- Destroyers:
MDL has a proven track record in constructing state-of-the-art destroyers, such as the Kolkata-class and Visakhapatnam-class. These ships are equipped with advanced weaponry and sensor systems, showcasing India’s capability in producing top-tier surface combatants. - Frigates:
MDL will highlight its Shivalik-class stealth frigates and its contribution to the Project 17A frigates, known for their stealth features and multi-role capabilities, suitable for diverse operational requirements. - Missile Boats:
Compact, fast, and lethal, MDL’s missile boats are designed for coastal defense and offensive operations, emphasizing rapid-response capabilities in modern naval warfare. - Submarines:
A key focus will be MDL’s expertise in submarine construction, particularly the Scorpène-class submarines, built under Project 75 in collaboration with Naval Group of France. MDL is also gearing up for the next-generation Project 75(I), reflecting its growing proficiency in submarine design and construction. - Engineering, Construction, and Systems Integration:
