A Twitter user (@sanders_IMINT) who specializes in imagery intelligence (IMINT) has sported a Strategic Early Warning Dual Band Radar System that India has deployed at a facility on the western border that will be used for High accuracy tracking and classification of Ballistic Missiles, Air Breathing Targets, Satellites & Space Debris Mapping. Dual-Band Radar System in question is speculated to be ELM-2090 TERRA that Consists of the ELM-2090U ULTRA & ELM-2090S SPECTRA radar systems.

ELTA’s ELM-2090 TERRA is a strategic Early Warning dual-band radar system that is crucial to provide Early warning with high precision tracking of Ballistic Missiles, including accurate Impact and Launch point estimation. The TERRA system is designed to provide the advantage of the combined UHF and S-band radars, ensuring optimized detection and tracking performance on very long-range targets, such as – ballistic missiles and satellites.

DRDO had selected two little-known villages in the Alwar and Pali districts of Rajasthan for which it had acquired 850 hectares of land in Khoa in Alwar district and 350 hectares in Roopnagar for installing a ballistic missile defense grid that will protect the western and northern parts of the country. This ballistic missile defense grid will help guard New Delhi and Mumbai.

ELTA’s ELM-2090 TERRA is an updated version of the EL/M-2080 Green Pine Radar System that India allegedly had acquired, nearly 20 years ago for its Ballistic Missile Defence Program and its Indian derivate called Swordfish Long Range Tracking Radar with improved range was developed with the fusion of Indian and Israeli technology at later years for BMD Program.

ELM-2090U ULTRA is a UHF Digital Radar and SPECTRA an S-Band Digital Radar that is designed to provide the advantage of the combined UHF and the S-band radars, ensuring optimized detection and tracking performance on very long-range targets, such as – ballistic missiles and satellites.
