Indian Navy and Smart Kalyan Dombivli Corporation Ltd (SKDCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to display the decommissioned Indian Naval Fast Attack Craft T-80 as a memorial at Kalyan’s Durgadi Sea Fort.

The decommissioned T-80 will be displayed to commemorate the 365th anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s establishment of the Maratha Navy.

The signing was attended by representatives from the Maharashtra Naval Area Headquarters and SKDCL.

The navy stated in a press release that the T-80 will continue to serve the country.

“Even after decommissioning, T-80 will continue to serve the country and inspire Indian youth visiting the Naval Museum at Durgadi Fort, Kalyan,” the statement said. The memorial will also highlight the state’s rich maritime history, particularly the roles played in World War II.
