From December 19 to 22, 2024, Hanoi hosted the Vietnam International Defence Expo, where Indian defense enterprises made a significant impact. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Neo Power, BrahMos Aerospace, and Runflat Tyre Systems were among the key participants, drawing considerable attention and fostering discussions on future Indo-Vietnamese defense collaborations.

Showcasing Indian Innovation

  • BEL acted as the nodal agency for the India Pavilion, showcasing an array of its latest defense electronics like the Akash Missile System, Weapon Locating Radar, and Counter Drone System. Their display highlighted India’s commitment to innovation in defense technology.
  • HAL was prominent with its advanced aerospace technologies, focusing on enhancing India’s air defense capabilities. Their participation underscored the potential for joint ventures in aerospace between India and Vietnam.
  • BDL brought forth its expertise in missile systems, showcasing indigenous solutions that could bolster Vietnam’s defense strategy, aligning with India’s missile defense programs.
  • MDL showcased its prowess in shipbuilding, demonstrating naval defense technologies that could be beneficial for Vietnam’s maritime security needs.
