A delegation from India’s Integrated Defence Staff participated in a “Seminar for India-Italy Collaboration in Defence Manufacturing” held in Rome under the DA Scheme for Export Promotion. The high-level event, aimed at fostering defense ties between the two nations, brought together key figures from both sides.

The seminar was graced by the presence of His Excellency Mr. Matteo Perego di Cremnago, Under Secretary of State to the Italian Ministry of Defense, as the Chief Guest. Additionally, presentations were delivered by Indian and Italian representatives:

  • India: A detailed presentation on defense exports was delivered to Italian industry leaders, showcasing India’s capabilities and potential.
  • Italy: Industry captains from Italy shared their experiences and perspectives on collaborating with India in the defense sector.

Dr. Neena Malhotra, India’s Ambassador to Italy, delivered the keynote address. She emphasized the crucial role of collaboration in defense manufacturing between the two nations and highlighted the Indian government’s “Atmanirbharta” (self-reliance) initiative.

The seminar offered a platform for in-depth discussions on the current status and future prospects of India-Italy defense cooperation. This included exchanging ideas on potential joint ventures, technology transfer, and collaborative projects.
