Pakistani leaders often compare their country with India. The latest comparison has been made by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Addressing a public function on Saturday, Shahbaz Sharif said, “If we do not defeat India, then change my name.” However, this challenge of Shahbaz Sharif was not about any war, but about progress. Addressing the rally, Shahbaz Sharif said that if Pakistan does not surpass India in terms of progress, then “my name is not Shahbaz Sharif.” Shahbaz Sharif made this comment while addressing a large crowd in Dera Ghazi Khan. During this, he launched several developmental projects and vowed to make Pakistan a great nation by taking it out of the current challenges.

Shahbaz Sharif was quite aggressive while addressing the crowd. He vowed that “If we do not overtake India, my name is not Shahbaz Sharif. We will make Pakistan a great nation and overtake India.” According to Pakistani media reports, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif confidently declared that Pakistan’s future is made for greatness and promised to lead the country to prosperity.

Shahbaz Sharif further said that under his leadership Pakistan will focus on building a self-reliant economy instead of relying on debt. Shahbaz Sharif also pointed to the recent reduction in inflation in the country and claimed that when his government took office, inflation in the country was 40 percent which has come down to just 2 percent today. Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif’s comment has attracted a lot of attention on social media in both Pakistan and India.

Many users on social media platform X have found his statement funny, while many users have also suggested new names to Shahbaz Sharif. Let us tell you that earlier this month, Shahbaz Sharif had expressed his desire for peaceful talks with India and said that Pakistan is keen to resolve all issues including the controversial Kashmir dispute through dialogue. He made these comments during a special session of the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) Assembly in Muzaffarabad on the occasion of “Kashmir Solidarity Day”. Let us tell you that Pakistan’s economy has been badly affected for many years. The country is still running on the package received from the International Monetary Fund. The price of petrol in Pakistan is still more than Rs 250 per liter, while the rate of electricity is more than Rs 40 per meter.
