An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in a lake at Karapanahalli village in Kolar district’s Bangarapet taluk on Monday. The incident occurred due to a technical glitch, but fortunately, there were no casualties reported.
Three pilots, including a woman pilot, were on a training mission when the technical issues arose, forcing them to execute an emergency landing. The helicopter, which belongs to the IAF’s Yelahanka Air Force station, was conducting a training sortie near KGF, Bangarapet, and surrounding areas.
Local residents from Bangarapet gathered at the landing site, and local police personnel also arrived to assist. Senior Air Force officials have informed that a team of technicians from Yelahanka will be dispatched to the site to repair the helicopter. Once the repairs are completed, the helicopter will be flown back to the Air Force station.
