Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is gearing up to enhance its manufacturing capabilities with the establishment of a new High-Capacity Forging Facility. This state-of-the-art facility will be equipped with advanced machinery, including Hydraulic Presses and Isothermal Forging Presses, to produce critical and heavy forgings essential for aerospace applications.

The proposed facility will focus on manufacturing components such as Discs, Blisks, Shafts for aero-engines, Bulkheads, and Landing gear parts. These components are crucial for the performance and reliability of aircraft and are typically characterized by their complex shapes and high-strength materials.

To initiate the project, HAL has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Engineering Consultancy services. The selected consultant will be responsible for preparing a detailed Project Report, encompassing technical specifications, cost estimates, and a comprehensive project timeline. Additionally, the consultant will conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and partners for the project.

This strategic investment by HAL aligns with the government’s vision of making India a global aerospace manufacturing hub. By establishing this new facility, HAL aims to reduce its reliance on imports, enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities, and contribute to the growth of the Indian aerospace industry.
