Indian Navy along with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry on 6thh May organized an event with Private sector companies for having a discussion and for the development of various programs under Make-I (Government Funded) and Make-II (Industry Funded) projects.
Under Make-II (Industry Funded) projects, the Indian Navy had key discussions with Industry partners for the development of the ” Glidefire” surface to surface missile system for the Naval Warships. While the Indian Navy has not given much information about the missile’s utility it seems that the missile can be installed on existing warships and Vertical Launch Cells without requiring any modifications.
Indian Navy also discussed other projects like the development of the Medium-Speed Marine Diesel engine (Make-I), a Lightweight high-speed engine for Naval boats (Make-II), Oily water separator system (Make-II), Ship-based Rukmani satcom terminals (Make-II) and Electro-Optical search and Track system (EOIRST).
