According to a report in “The Hindu”, officials from the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) are expecting Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) by mid-2023 and TEDBF could be inducted into the Navy by 2031-32.

The Preliminary Design Review (PDR) of the TEDBF will be completed by March, presently high-speed modeling to test the supersonic characteristics is underway with internal funds from the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). ADA officials claim that if CCS approval is granted by Mid-2023 then the rollout of Prototype will happen by mid-2025 and the first flight in 2026.

The TEDBF is a replacement for the Mig-29K fighters in service and has an all-up weight of 26 tones and a wing folding mechanism for storage in lower decks of aircraft carriers.
