The Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) has showcased its latest technological marvel, the ECAUV 500. This advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is designed to excel in a variety of underwater applications, from oceanographic research to underwater surveillance.
The ECAUV 500 is designed to handle complex underwater tasks, making it ideal for military, scientific, and commercial applications. Its positive buoyancy and endurance enable it to perform extensive surveys, mapping, and reconnaissance missions in diverse underwater environments. Additionally, the robust depth rating and scalable design allow it to adapt to various mission requirements, from coastal surveillance to deep-sea exploration.
The ECAUV 500 boasts impressive capabilities, including:
Navigation: Advanced navigation systems, including an Inertial Navigation System (INS) and a Doppler Velocity Log (DVL), ensure accurate positioning and course keeping.
Depth Rating: The AUV can operate at depths of up to 600 meters, with the potential to be scaled to 1000 meters.
Buoyancy: It maintains a positive buoyancy of +25 kilograms, ensuring its stability in the water column.
Endurance: The ECAUV 500 can operate continuously for up to 20 hours at a speed of 4 knots.
Dimensions: The AUV measures approximately 4600mm in length and 450mm in diameter, with a displacement of 0.65 cubic meters.
Propulsion: A single thruster provides forward propulsion, while vertical and horizontal fins enable precise maneuvering.
Power Source: The ECAUV 500 is powered by a reliable lithium-ion battery.
The ECAUV 500 is equipped with a suite of sensors and instruments that can be customized to meet specific mission requirements. These may include sonar systems, cameras, and environmental sensors.
The ECAUV 500 is designed for ease of deployment and recovery, ensuring smooth operations even in challenging maritime conditions. This feature enhances its operational efficiency and reduces the time and resources needed for mission execution.
