In a tragic incident that unfolded in Punjab’s Moga district, Baljinder Singh Balli, a local Congress leader, fell victim to a fatal shooting at his residence on Monday. The assailants, yet to be identified, forcibly entered his home and opened fire. The chilling incident was captured on CCTV footage and has circulated widely on social media.

According to media reports, Baljinder Singh Balli served as the Congress block president in Ajitwal. It has been revealed that he was in the middle of a haircut when he received an unknown caller’s request to sign certain documents. Believing it to be a routine matter, he left his home to attend to the call. Tragically, this was when two individuals on a motorcycle approached and fired upon him, leaving him critically injured before fleeing the scene. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Balli succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Local authorities have been alerted, and a thorough investigation has been initiated to apprehend the culprits responsible for this heinous crime.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, a Facebook post surfaced in which a person named Arsh Dalla claimed responsibility for the murder. In his post, Dalla alleged that Baljinder Singh Balli had adversely impacted his future and coerced him into criminal activities. He further stated that the Congress leader was instrumental in his mother’s police custody, which served as a motivation for seeking revenge.

It is essential to note that Arsh Dalla is a designated terrorist and has been sought by the National Investigative Agency (NIA). Operating from Canada for the past three to four years, he has been linked to multiple terrorist-related incidents in Punjab.
