At the current moment of political crisis in Bangladesh, around 600 people from that country have tried unsuccessfully to enter India. They were intercepted by the BSF forces on the borders of Dakshin Berubari village of Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal and sent back. In this event, the Bangladeshis begged the BSF personnel to allow them to enter India.

It is noteworthy that they are migrating to India because they fear that something will happen to their lives in the ongoing violence in Bangladesh. These Bangladeshis said that they have experienced miserable conditions in their country.

Despite the BSF personnel urging them to go back to where they came from, some Bangladeshi citizens were found still roaming in the border area. It is known that Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and came to India from Bangladesh because of the student protest movement.
