The incident of a Border Security Force-BSF bus accidentally falling into a valley is shocking. Four jawans were martyred in this accident in the Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Others were seriously injured. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital and are being treated. It seems that the condition of some of the injured is critical. It appears that the death toll is likely to increase. The accident occurred in a BSF convoy which was going for security in connection with the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.
The incident took place while the BSF convoy was going as part of security duties. All 7 buses left as a convoy.. On the way, it lost control at Brel village and fell into the 40-foot valley beside it. It seems that there were 35 jawans on the bus at the time of the accident. Four jawans died on the spot. While 32 others were injured, the condition of six jawans is reported to be critical.
Brel villagers and security forces came to know that the BSF bus had fallen into a huge valley and started rescue operations. The injured jawans were taken to nearby hospitals and treated. The local police said that three jawans lost their lives.
Assembly elections are currently going on in Jammu and Kashmir. While the elections are going on in all 3 phases, the first phase of polling was completed on September 18. The second phase of polling will be held on September 25. After 10 years, as assembly elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir, massive arrangements are being made. It is noteworthy that 2019 will be the first election after the abrogation of Article 370. Moreover, elections are being held amid tight security in the wake of increasing terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir for the past few months.
