Anyone sharing information regarding “anti-national activities” in Jammu and Kashmir will receive between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, police announced on Saturday. The highest reward, Rs 5 lakh, will be given to whoever locates the transborder tunnel used by “anti-national elements” to transport terrorists, explosives, and contraband consignments into Jammu and Kashmir from across the border, police said in a statement.

Rs 3 lakh will be given as a reward to those providing information on drones flown from across the border to drop narcotics, arms or explosive materials, which leads to the recovery of the material, it said.

A jawan of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) was injured when a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Naxalites exploded in Bijapur district on Sunday, police said. Three IEDs, weighing 5 kg each, were also recovered from the blast site between Dumripalnar and Timenar villages, an official said.

The explosion occurred around 9 am when a team of security personnel was out on an area domination operation, he said. A CAF jawan came in contact with a pressure IED, triggering the blast, he said.

Bandra Kurla Police registered a case against an unknown person on Saturday for allegedly sending a threat email to the office of the US consulate general in Mumbai.

According to Mumbai Police, the email was received from the address rkgtrading777@gamil.com around 3.50 am on Saturday. Officers at the Bandra-Kurla police station said a case was registered against an unknown person under sections 505(1)(b) and 506(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), adding that further investigation was underway.

Police in Hyderabad have apprehended a Bangladeshi woman who had entered India illegally and was indulging in prostitution. Police have also arrested a couple which had given the woman shelter and used her for flesh trade. The 22-year-old Bangladeshi had illegally entered India two months ago and reached Hyderabad via Kolkata and was staying at a house in Chandrayangutta area in the city.

The foreign national’s illegal stay came to light when she went to a customer without informing the couple, resulting in a fight between them.

The Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered a China-made drone in a partially damaged condition from a farming field near Chann Kalan village in Amritsar district of Punjab, according to an official statement. “On the night of 10th February 2024, vigilant BSF troops on duty intercepted the movement of a suspected drone on the border in the district of Amritsar. Following the protocol, the BSF Quick Response Team (QRT) promptly tracked the movement of the drone”, the statement said.

The recovered drone is identified as a Quadcopter, model – DJI Mavic 3 Classic, which is manufactured in China.

The police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested two Bangladeshi nationals from Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai township for allegedly staying in India illegally, an official said on Sunday. The two persons, both aged 24, were apprehended on Friday from Khidukpada village at Nadve in Panvel, the official from cyber police station said.

An ATS team, during an inspection of the Khidukpada locality, found the two persons residing in a chawl (row tenement). During questioning, they failed to furnish any valid documents for their entry into the country, he said.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) has revealed a model duct fabricated with magnetic flakes for its upcoming Remotely Piloted Strike Aircraft (RPSA). This image shows the duct, along with Radar Cross Section (RCS) images of the duct with and without Radar Absorbing Material (RAS).

The RPSA is a 10-13 tonne drone, comparable to strike fighters in its capacity to carry heavy weaponry such as bombs, rockets, and missiles. Because they are remotely controlled, they can be built lighter and stealthier, allowing them to undertake even the riskiest missions.’
