Authorities apprehended radical Sikh ‘preacher’ Amritpal Singh’s alleged social media handler, Gurinderpal Singh Aujla, at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International airport today while he was attempting to travel to England.
Aujla is a UK-based NRI who is wanted by Jalandhar police, who have issued a lookout circular (LOC) against him in connection with a case involving the display of weapons on social media. He had been evading arrest and failing to appear in court. According to reports, he was attempting to flee the country and travel to England.
When he arrived at the airport today, he was detained by airport authorities and turned over to police. The police seized his phone and launched an investigation to determine his ties to foreign-based radicals.
