According to the Hindu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed top intelligence officials to detect, detain, and deport “illegal migrants” in each state, and to continue the targeted crackdown even if neighbouring countries refuse to accept them.

According to sources, Shah tasked the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaus (SIBs) of all states in a meeting on November 9 to identify around 100 “infiltrators” in each state, check their documents, and arrest them if possible.

However, Shah has previously warned of an influx of “illegal migrants” or “infiltrators” into the country.
