The caretaker government of the neighboring country dismissed two Bangladeshi diplomats working in India before the expiry of their term. On August 17, the government of Muhammad Yunus ordered the dismissal of two diplomats. It is learned that Shaban Mahmud, working as First Secretary (Press) at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, was asked to resign before the end of his contract. At the same time, Ranjan Sen, who was working in the same position at the Bangladeshi Consulate in Kolkata, was also removed from his duties.
A new interim government has been formed in Bangladesh after the fall of the Awami League government. After that, Bangladesh dismissed two diplomats appointed by Sheikh Hasina.
According to sources, the sacked diplomat Ranjan Sen has not yet returned to Bangladesh after leaving office. It is reported that he may take some time to return home. However, the government of Bangladesh did not say anything about why the anger suddenly fell on the two diplomats of Hasina’s tenure.
Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Rehana have taken refuge in India from Bangladesh after the uprising. Anti-India is forming in the mind of a large part of the common people of Bangladesh. In this context, the dismissal of two Bangladeshi diplomats working in India is significant.
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Hasina is under intense pressure despite leaving Bangladesh. His diplomatic passport has already been cancelled. After leaving the country, one case after another is filed against him. Most of which are murder cases. Due to which Dhaka is increasing pressure on New Delhi to return Hasina to the country for trial.
