Former Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa while speaking at the third edition of coveted Military Literature Festival (MLF) at Lake Club, Chandigarh said that Bell 206B JetRanger III Utility helicopter belonging to the Pakistan Army Aviation Corps was spotted heading towards south of Kotli and away from the Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s location towards F-16 crash site to pick up its pilot.

Indian Army Jawans at the ground at spotted the helicopter and video coming from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) had caught Bell 206B JetRanger III flying at an ultra low-level altitude immediately after F-16 was shot down by the Mig-21Bis flown by Wing Commander Abhinandan.

Former Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa confirmed that Search & Rescue (SAR) Helicopter of Pakistan Army Aviation Corps was airborne immediately after air battle inside POK and IAF Radars had picked it up while it was flying low not towards where Abhinandan had ejected but further north of his location exactly where IAF’s IL-76 AWACS Phalcon had last detected Pakistani air Force F-16B before it vanished from the area after launch of R-73 Close Combat Missile by the Mig-21Bis.
