T Suvarna Raju Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Aeronautics while speaking to CNBC-TV18 said that the company is expecting to close orders for more 200 units of Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) over orders for 73 which it has already secured for its Advanced Light Helicopter in 2017.

Earlier this week, HAL bagged contract for the supply of 41 Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) to the Indian Army and one to the Indian Navy and In March this year, HAL had signed a contract for the supply of 32 ALH to Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard.

Optimistic about the outlook going forward, Raju said in the next 10 years, at least 1000 helicopters would roll out of HAL which includes 150 Light combat Helicopters which have recently entered limited Serial Production.

Coming to the construction of Fighter aircraft, Raju said Sukhoi-30MKI order will be completed by 2019-20 and HAL is already constructing 40 LCA-Tejas MK-1 and also has Acceptance of Necessity (AON) for 83 LCA-Tejas MK-1A which will be turned into firm order in coming years soon.

HAL is also looking forward to getting orders for India’s indigenous developed basic trainer aircraft, Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 (HTT-40) and HAL is expecting orders for 106 units which will be developed and delivered in next 5-6 years.
